Elizabeth Road park – Westriding

The park in Westriding is being used more and more by residents who exercise their dogs, or just enjoy the open space.

In 2019 there are plans to upgrade the park – the project will be supported by Mike Haskins of Parks, Tony Wint from Camelot, and Lester the chairman of the Westriding Neighbourhood Watch, and also KHBA. Ideas, suggestions are invited.

Anyone who has visited Centenary Park in Kloof will be aware of what is possible to make the Hillcrest park a place we can all be proud of and enjoy.

Too much mowing of the grass in the park tends to stunt the wildflowers – and it is pleasing to see some wildflowers emerging again as a result of a break in mowing.

The doubling of the historic stone bridge is progressing and only after it is complete can development of the park take place.

Any ideas or contributions gladly received.
